Local shop and restaurant at picturesque St Georges-de-Montclard 10 min drive, where in July and August there are medieval festivals each Friday evening. Tennis at Pont-St-Mamet and riding at Liorac-sur-Louyre 10/15 min drive. Vergt, 15 min drive, has good swimming lake with sandy beach. Ideally situated between historic towns of Bergerac, Périgueux and Sarlat and with easy access to the many local vineyards. International airports: Bergerac 23 km/Bordeaux 120 km.

Set in an original Huguenot settlement, this character stone farmhouse with a Pergordine pigeonnier, surrounded by pine forest, has been lovingly restored by the owners. Situated in over 25 acres of unfenced, steep, sloping woodland and pasture at the end of a chalk track that runs through this small hamlet. Large garden with grass areas, a ''loving-seat'' in a secluded spot, and plenty of trees for shade. Wide south-facing terrace overlooking the pool 12 x 6 x 0.7-2.5m depth with security immersion alarm and roman steps. Children's wendy-house, toys, badminton and boules, BBQ. Parking for 4 cars.

Very well-equipped house with quality furnishings and much use of natural wood and local products. Invitingly comfortable sitting room with 2 cream sofas, wood-burner, satellite TV/video and hi-fi. Oak floor with rugs. Step up (low headroom) to fully fitted kitchen with pale oak units, tiled work surfaces, fireplace with wood-burner, microwave, dishwasher, terracotta tiled floor and long oak dining table which seats 12 for leisurely meals. ‘Wet room’ with “rain” shower/WC. Second sitting/family room with TV, terracotta flooring and access onto terrace. Laundry closet with washing machine and tumble dryer (in 2010). Stairs from kitchen to Bed 1: antique white iron king-size and matching single, and Bed 2: ornate French super king-size with fold down single. Second stairs from downstairs hallway to large landing with comfortable seating area in the pigeonnier. Bathroom off landing with bath/shower and WC. Second door to bed 2, and access to other bedrooms. Bed 3: full-size bunk beds, could be made into 2 singles, with pull-out third bed for use in any room. Bed 4: 2 French cream metal singles. Romantic master Bed 5: beautiful Javanese four-poster super king-size, antique Indian arched doorway to ensuite bath/rain shower/WC (aromatherapy candles provided!). Some bedrooms have low beams. Internet access in 2010 (clients must bring own lap top). Two travel cots and 2 highchairs on request.
