Nearest shops at Mareuil, 5 min drive, with its pretty château, bakery, restaurants and all supplies. More shops in picturesque Brantôme, 20 km, which sits astride two rivers and is a lovely place to spend the day browsing the shops and narrow streets. For the more adventurous why not take a canoe down the river Dronne or explore the fabulous countryside on foot or by bike. Food lovers will know that the region is famous for its fresh local produce and Foie Gras delicacies. Most towns have colourful weekly markets and stage cultural events throughout the summer. Recently renovated country house in typically French hamlet attached to a small cottage rarely used by its English owners. The location is ideal for nature lovers with great walks from the house and a small river accessible via paths in the surrounding fields. Lovely private pool 10 x 5 x 1.08-1.8m depth, with immersion alarm, and large sunny terrace for outside dining and relaxing, with a small enclosed garden. Further 3.5 acres of land comprising woods, field and path to river are also great for exploring!

Entrance hall leading to utility room with washing machine, extra fridge and sep shower/WC. Spacious farmhouse kitchen with breakfast table, wood burning stove, dishwasher, microwave and door to terrace and pool area. Beautiful exposed beams and thick stone walls are a particular feature of the attractive and spacious living areas which comprise a dining room and large living room, with three sofas and wood burning stove. French doors to the pool area from living room. Satellite TV (some UK channels available)/DVD and extra TV in dining room. Stairs to Bed 1: 2 singles. Bed 2: double and single (can interconnect if required, but with independent access from the hall). Bed 3: double. Bed 4: double. Original wooden floors throughout the first floor and all rooms have large windows with views over the pool and countryside beyond. Bath/WC. Cot and highchair on request. Dogs welcome.
