Superb beaches at St Georges-de-Didonne and Royan approx 1 hour''s drive. Further selection of shops and restaurants in the riverside village of Chaniers 10 min drive where river boats can be hired to discover other picturesque towns: Taillebourg whose inhabitants defeated the English during the Hundred Years'' War and St Savinien with colourful houses directly on the waterside are within 45 min drive. Saintes, the Roman capital of Aquitaine with beautiful abbey and breathtaking arena is only 20 min drive, and Cognac with its distilleries a similar distance. Golf and riding within 20 min drive. International airports: La Rochelle 94 km/Bordeaux 125 km.

Situated in the well-maintained grounds of owners'' imposing residence, this cottage was originally part of the outbuildings and has been restored to create a simple but comfortable holiday property. Shared use of the delightful large enclosed grass garden, and pool 8 x 4 x 1.5m overall depth with security cover. Paved terrace to front of cottage and small grass area to side for clients'' use, with quite steep steps down to gate onto quiet country lane for independent access. BBQ. Table tennis in barn. Owner has friendly cat that likes to wander in the garden.

Owner also has attractive additional studio with double sofa-bed, kitchen corner, shower/WC, on request at €360 per week, payable locally.
