Take a day trip to the long sandy beaches at Gruissan 33km or Valras, or stroll along the shady tree lined Canal du Midi (an UNESCO World Heritage Site) which is only 1km. The canal, and the pretty villages that line it such as Capestang and Somail sur Aude, are a delight to explore and ideal for walkers and cyclists. Don’t forget to visit the famous Carcassonne which is only 49km and is a must see medieval fortified town. International airport Carcassonne 54km.
