In the surrounding you will find the basilica of Vezelay, the Cistercians abbeys of Fontenay, Citaux and Pontigny, the mediaeval castles of Bazoches, Chastelux, Epoisss, and the fortifies towns Avallon, Semur and Auxois, Montreal and Noyers sur Serein. This area has beautiful idyllic landscapes, which you can discover by foot, horse or bicycle at your leisure. Mountain bikes are available at the castle. There is much to do on the lakes, brooklets and ponds of the Yonne and Cure, like canoeing, kayaking, sailing and fishing.
