Accommodation overview: Only 10 minutes from beautiful Coniston Water sits Langholme Mill Cottage near Lowick, a 17th Century former corn mill. Both Coniston, Ulverston and Broughton are within easy reach enabling visitors to explore the fields and fells that are visible from the door of Langholme Mill, enticing visitors to explore the great outdoors. Langholme Mill Cottage is rather special as it has almost an acre of beautiful woodland gardens. Designed around the mill race, the gardens feature interesting displays, ornamental bridges and features slate paths, as well as well established rhododendrons, hostas and aces providing a mass of vibrant colour. Accommodation overview: The hamlets of Lowick Green and Lowick Bridge sit at the Southern most tip of Coniston Water in an area of beautiful open countryside. This is rural Cumbria at its best, Lowick being a fine example of a village, hosting an annual agricultural show every September, to include Cumberland wrestling, fell running and hound trails. Ulverston, home to Stan Laurel, is a mere 7 miles away to the South with Coniston itself only 15 minutes drive. The cottage is located across the road from the Farmers Arms, a 14th Century coaching Inn, offering fine food and a real country pub atmosphere with local ales and open fires. Thorn Cottage is a substantial property of great character, evidenced in original floorboards and exposed beams. Dating back to the 1800s, numerous pictures around the house depict its ancient past and the refurbishments in recent times have been done sympathetically and with great care. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious, just the spot for a family get together, whatever time of the year. Please note that due to its age, the house does have a number of small steps here and there and you should be careful to either bend or bump.

Accommodation overview: Hidden Cottage, a traditional mid terrace built in the 18th century, is situated close to Coniston Water and village and is within walking distance of two excellent Lakeland Inns. The Farmers Arms, just across the road from the cottage, has been trading since the 16th century and serves excellent bar meals and local ales. Hidden Cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable and has all the essential ingredients you would expect of a quality holiday cottage; open beams, a log burning stove and a delightful elevated garden which has fine, open views across nearby farmland. The summer house is the perfect spot to sit and take in the evening sunshine or even to enjoy on wetter days. Hidden Cottage is a super property and once found, we hope never forgotten.

Accommodation overview: Haycote Cottage is a delightful stone built property in the heart of working farmland, a short distance from Coniston Water, Coniston village and Grizedale Forest. Lowick is a traditional village and still hosts the annual Lowick show, an excellent display of local craft and produce, the surrounding area farmed by local families throughout the ages. There are an abundance of gentle walks from the door at Haycote Cottage, and numerous villages can be reached within minutes drive, Coniston and Broughton just two. The nearby pub serves local ales and great food. The styling throughout Haycote Cottage is superb, of excellent quality and reminiscent of a boutique hotel - not quite what you would expect from a traditional Lakeland cottage but the combination works brilliantly. Perfect for those wishing to be a little off the beaten track, this is a romantic hideaway for two with that all important traditional pub within easy walking distance.
