Accommodation overview: Situated in a tranquil part of Bellerby village opposite the Old Mill, 150 year old stone built Mill House enjoys a gentle stream trickling down besides the road to the rear and a picturesque cottage garden and patio laid with two old mill stones to the front. Bellerby is easily accessible from the A1 and enjoys the facilities of a country pub which also sells basic provisions. The cottage is very well equipped and offers cosy and welcoming holiday accommodation with every home from home comfort. Excellent footpath walks may be enjoyed direct from the door, leading past the Mill race and out into the open countryside, ensuring a perfect base for the outdoor enthusiast. The bustling market town of Leyburn is 2 miles away and provides a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants along with an outdoor market on the market square each Friday. At the top of the town, The Shawl is the perfect view point overlooking Wensleydale and is believed to have been the escape route for Mary Queen of Scots from nearby Bolton Castle and is thought to have been named after she dropped her shawl there! Lots of attractions in the surrounding area to suit all age groups include The Forbidden Corner - perfect for children and adults alike, the Teapottery, the Chocolate factory, Bolton and Middleham Castle, Constable Burton Gardens and Aysgarth Falls complete the Yorkshire Dales National Park visitor centre and spectacular waterfall walks.

Accommodation overview: Osbourne Cottage is a delightful 17th century cottage full of charm and character positioned in the quiet, picturesque hamlet of Houlsyke near Danby, on the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. It has exposed wooden beams and, as well as central heating, it has a welcoming log burning fire. It has been tastefully furnished and decorated and offers comfortable accommodation for couples and families. In the garage there is table tennis and darts so children need never be bored. The stunning views of Great Fryup Dale and the surrounding open countryside can be appreciated from the private balcony situated off the master bedroom and is perfect for relaxing and unwinding on a summers evening with a glass of wine. It is a perfect base for ramblers and cyclists with an abundance of pathways and cycle tracks close by. There are plenty of events and activities to join in at the Danby Moor Centre less than a mile from your door, where they have organised walks a super outdoor play area and lots going on to keep the children amused. There are a number of pretty villages dotted along this route including Lealholm, where the children can play in the stream and is perfect for a picnic and a paddle or a meal at the pub, The Board Inn. If you want to travel slightly further the delightful coastal resorts of Runswick Bay, Staithes and Sandsend are an ideal place to enjoy the seaside with some lovely golden sandy beaches, traditional inns and tearooms. The historic town of Whitby is only 12 miles away and is a must to sample its famous, delicious fish and chips. The Esk Valley train that stops off at Danby is an ideal way to observe and enjoy all the beautiful villages on the North York Moors.

Stainton has the benefit of a village shop, a farm shop, a hotel and restaurant and a pub, all within a few yards of the cottage. The Alpaca centre and Rheghed discovery centre are both situated on the edge of the village.
