Kingfisher Cottage is one of a handful of cottages fronting the River Kent at Cowan Head, near Bowston, a peaceful location from where easy access can be had to the more popular tourist resorts of Bowness and Windermere or to the medieval market town of Kendal. on the Dalesway, some wonderful walking and cycle routes can be enjoyed directly from the cottage and there are plenty of fine watering holes along the way for the odd refreshments or two.
